Objectives for Students

After completing this module, you will be able to:

  • Predict the outcome of real-world problems using a model
  • Describe the circumstances under which computer modeling may be a more effective means than a hands-on lab
  • Construct a pedigree showing the inheritance pattern for the mutation as it was passed down in the rabbit population
  • List and explain how a population problem uses concepts learned in genetics, evolution, and ecology
  • Design graphs that illustrate the effect that the mutation has on a rabbit-wolf food chain
  • Explain how natural selection produces organisms better suited to their environment over time
