Hail, Hail The Damage Is Done

Impact Damage From Hail Storms

Cross Curricular Connections

The core subjects of science, mathematics and language arts are inherent in the design of this module (see state and national curriculum framework references for science and mathematics included in this module).

Language arts skills are woven throughout the module. For example, students will be formulating ideas, making connections and communicating their findings through both oral discussion and writing.

In studying what makes a hailstone hazardous, students will need to consider the resulting damage from a hailstorm. The damage is likely to be, at least in part, related to economics. Therefore, the teacher may choose to include an economics/social studies component in the investigation.
