Sample Simple STELLA Model

This is a working model of weight that can be used to demonstrate how a model could be made.There are other ways of thinking of this problem.

Download the model by clicking on Simple Stella Model.   The file will be zipped when it downloads.  You will have to open it with Winzip on a PC or Stuffit Expander on a Mac.  Both of these can be downloaded if you do not have them.

For this model:

Basil Metabolic Rate = 10 calories/lb-day

Conversion rate for storing excess body weight = 3000 Calories/lb

Food intake is in calories/day

Exercise is in calories/day

Weight is in pounds

DW/Dt=change in weight=(Food intake-Exercise-Basil Metabolic Rate times Weight)/Conversion Rate for storing excess body weight
