Height of tree

Introduction :This page will allow you to estimate the height of a tree. You need three measurements. The distance you are standing from the tree dt. The distance the ruler is from your eye dr. While you hold the ruler at arms length line the bottom of the ruler up with the base of the tree. Measure the apparent height of the tree along side your ruler hr. Your measurements need to be in decimal form. 22 1/2 inches should be entered as 22.5.

Input Values:

distance to tree dt = feet
distance to ruler dr = inches
apparent height of tree by ruler hr = inches

Result:

estimated height of tree ht = feet
