Background Material

This module requires knowledge of arteries and blood flow and the role of cholesterol in the buildup of plaque.  The terms included in the glossary will be helpful in ensuring that students are successful.  Although a Stella and an Excel model are used in the module, no prior knowledge of either is required for the completion of the module as it is written.  If you do not have access to computers for your entire class, you may just show your class the module on one computer and use it as a demo.  If Excel is not available, have students make a paper graph of their data from the lab.
