This module will introduce students to the concept of blood flow in relation to cholesterol levels.  The module will also relate the following factors:  genetic, food intake, medical treatments, and exercise to cholesterol levels.  In the module students will learn to gather, graph, and analyze data. 

This module will introduce computational modeling using the following software:  Stella and Excel.  Students will also use the internet for research as well as a word processor and powerpiont to demonstrate competency.  Rubics will be provided for assessment.

This module is design as a math and science integrated lesson.  It is written for biology, advanced math, and calculus.  The module has cross-curricular connection to health, family and consumer science, and earth science.  Lesson and activities are planned for 90 minutes class periods but can be adapted to any time period.
