Do you know what causes the earth's seasons?  Is it the distance between the earth and sun?  Does the Earth's angle (tilt) have any affect on the seasons?  What effect does the photoperiod have on the physical components of the earth?  The answers to these questions can be found after investigating each one of the conditions separately.  In these activities, the conditions are examined to see the effect they have on the Earth's seasons. Understanding the physics of the Earth's revolution around the sun leads students to explain how Earth's seasons exist and the effects upon the Earth and its inhabitants.  Below are links to some activities that can be done in any of the Physical Sciences such as Earth Science, Physics, and Astronomy.

Light Intensity:  A Computer Based Lab (CBLŽ) activity.

Light Intensity:  A MathematicaŽ activity that uses the data from the CBLŽ activity.

Light Angle Activity:  An ExcelŽ spreadsheet activity.

Earth-Sun Distance Activity:   An ExcelŽ spreadsheet activity.
