Day 10: Understanding the Impact of Tropical Storm Allison Continued

Objectives:    

1.   Research and analyze data on the significance of Tropical Storm Allison to Harris County .    

 2.    Create graphs to accurately model data

 3.  Create a web page to share with others the information and insights gained through this study.

Materials: 

1.      Computer Lab with Internet assess and a word processing program

2.   Excel program with the Data Analysis Tool installed. (This comes with the program, but it is not loaded in a typical installation. It is on the Microsoft Office CD as an Add-In Tool and must be loaded into the program in order to do this assignment.)

3.  Projection device to display the PowerPoint Presentation

 Activity:

1.      Using the PowerPoint presentation, Tropical Storm Allison, the teacher will guide the students through the assignment.

2.      Using the PowerPoint handout, the students will take notes and complete the assignment.  

3.  The web page will be assessed using the Web Page Rubric.
