Day 4: Surface Water Runoff and the 100-Year Flood

Excel spreadsheet program Activities: 1.Using the PowerPoint presentation, Surface Water Runoff and the 100-Year Flood, the teacher will guide the students through an exploration of hydrology, the 100-Year Flood, ground cover and hydrologic conditions. 2. The teacher will demonstrate how to run the model and how to set up the spreadsheet for use in analyzing the resulting data. 2. Using the PowerPoint presentation handout, the students will take notes and then complete the assignment entitled Questions III. 3. The students will then run the model and create a spreadsheet to use in analyzing the resulting data. 4. Finally, the students will complete the Questions Part IV and then turn in both parts of their work or email them to the teacher.
