How to download the Stella model of projectile motion
via a catapult used for this module.
We have found that the .STM extension for Stella files is being used
by Windows as an HTML file and also by Winamp (an MP3 player)
as an Audio file. So even with the server configured to force a download
of these .STM files, some computers are still trying to open
the files
with the browser or with Winamp. The only consistent way to ensure
the correct download of Stella files is to zip them using Winzip,
(http://www.winzip.com/ddchomea.htm
). Users will download the zipped file, save the zipped version,
and extract it.
If you wish, you can download a
non-zipped copy
of the Stella model for our module. Here is a
zipped copy
of the model.
In either case, do not just double click on the file to open it, instead:
- Launch the Stella application program
- From the main Stella menu, select File / Open
- Navigate to the location where you saved the Stella model and open it
