TRANSFERRING FILES TO YOUR TEAM DIRECTORY

1.  WSFTP-LE software will be used to transfer files from your hard drive to the ncsec.org web server.  The software package was installed on your machine; however, if it is no longer on your machine, then download the software from www.ecu.edu/download.  Choose WSFTP-LE Windows 95/WindowsNT version and follow the directions. The simplest install is to choose the “Run from your location” option.   As part of the install process, you will need to select that you are a member of a K-12 institution.

2.  Start WSFTP-LE and enter the www.ncsec.org as the host address, enter the userid and password for your team. Your userid and password is the word TEAM followed by your team number.  Choose the Save Password checkbox and deselect the Anonymous checkbox.  Remember userid’s and password’s are in capital letters.  After filling in the correct information, select OK.

4.  On the Remote site (right side) portion of the dialog box, select ChgDir and type the following directory with your appropriate team number.  Select OK.

5.        Select the file from your local system (your hard drive-left side of screen) and use the arrows in the middle of the dialog box to move the file to the Remote site (server-right side of the screen).

6.        If the file transfers correctly, then it will appear on the right side of the screen.   If your volume is turned on, then you will hear a sound indicating the transaction is complete.

7.        Your files can be viewed at www.ncsec.org/teamXX/filename.html.  Replace XX with your team number and replace the filename with the name of your file.
