My motivation for teaching:
I enjoy helping my students learn to understand mathematics and to hopefully, have some fun with it. I look forward to teaching every day. I accept the challenge of finding different ways to explain a certain concept so that students learn that there are different approaches to solving the same problem.

My favorite quote:
It is better to aim high and miss then to aim low and hit. -- unknown author

A personal humorous school story:
Having gone over the process of function composition the day before, I had a student tell me that they did not understand that "fog" and "gof" stuff that I had covered the day before. I was stumped, I had no idea what they were talking about until I looked at the board and saw the "fog" and "gof" they were referring to. If you use the composition notation of a small circle between the f and g it does look like the word "fog" or "gof". I now am more careful in explaining the notation or I use the optional notation of f(g(x)) or g(f(x)). I always tell this anedote when I teach function composition.
