My motivation for teaching:
Education is of primary importance. There is nothing as important as gaining a broad knowldege base on which one develops ideas regarding the world. Teachers have the most important job- and science teachers have a particular responsibility to help their students appreciate the natural world around them by helping them see the world in new ways through discovery and through new experiences which will help shape their attitudes and feelings about science and its role in the world and society.

My favorite quote:
"Philosophy is written in this grand book the universe...But the book cannot be understood unless one first learns to comprehend the language and to read the alphabet in which it is composed. It is written in the language of mathematics, and its characters are triangles, circles, and other geometric figures, without which it is humanly impossible to understand a single word of it; without these, one wanders about in a dark labyrinth." Galileo

A personal humorous school story:
Hmmm....I'm sure something funny happened to me sometime in 15 years....give me a couple of weeks to come up with something,
