My favorite quote:
"Unexamined traditions become superstitions" Toaist saying

"Lord, you are the center of my life
I will always praise you,
I will always serve you,
I will always keep you in my sight"

A personal humorous school story:
I was standing at our class Periodic Table and was explaining some of the "general trends" of the table, and one of my students whispered to another (loud enough for me to hear) "General Trends, wasn't he in the Civil War?"

I am happy to report this student, went on to earn a masters in history. We still see each other from time to time and laugh at this memory.
