2000/2001 Leadership Program

SC2000

The SC2000 Education Program was held at the Dallas Convention Center in Dallas, Texas, from November 4 -9, 2000. From the outset of the program, conference leaders and teacher participants hailed the SC2000 Education Program as the best education program in SC Conference history. Throughout the week, participating teachers enthusiastically underwent the first phase of computational science training, and embraced a unique opportunity to view resource-intensive computational science, scientific collaboration, and leading-edge technologies from the world's most renowned research universities, laboratories, and centers. During off hours, teachers enjoyed Texas-style barbecue at Eddie Deen's Ranch in downtown Dallas, bravely tried their hand at riding a mechanical bull, and raced armadillos! At the end of the SC2000 Education Program, participating teachers received a CEU (Continuing Education Unit) certificate in recognition of their completion of 40 hours of leadership training at the SC2000 conference.
