Program Presentation during the Sunday Plenary Session
Teachers to gain a new way of thinking about how to teach science and mathematics. New way means using inquiry as a critical part of teaching; use discovery as a part of teaching; lead students to model real world scientific phenomena; and use authentic tools (tools that are actually used in research)
Goals for this week
1. Understand the role of modeling and visualization in science and mathematics education
2. Gain beginning knowledge in all of the tools presented
3. Begin the development of the curriculum module (1-2 page description of the module and brief presentation overview of module)
4. Be able to use at least one of the existing modules located at www.ncsec.org
