Teaching Tips
Alternate Outlines
This lesson can be rearranged in several ways if there is only one available computer:
- Instead of allowing the students to create the model on their own either create it as a class or have
the students rotate to the computer in groups to build the model
- Another option would be to have the computer hooked to a projector and let groups come to the computer
to create a part of the model with you watching the projected image and guide when needed.
This will force the other students to pay attention because they will have to contribute to the
and need to know what parts have been added.
Extensions
This lesson may be followed by:
- Having the students brainstorm other models they would like to do or giving them other models to create.
- It may be possible to create a setup where the students could work on models after finishing their classwork or after tests.
