    Materials and Procedures

    Note to Science Writing Students

Use your experimental design diagram as a guide to write a step-by-step procedure that will be used to gather the experimental data. See the rubric for guidelines to help you with quality. Make sure that the procedure is written so that the Chemistry 2 students will perform the experiment in the way that you have planned. Check with your instructor to see what materials are available.

    Note to Chemistry 2 Students

Read and follow the procedure written by the Science Writing students. Ask for clarification if you are not sure what the writer meant. The data you collect should be organized in a table and used to produce a graph that shows the relationship between the independent and dependent variables. Be sure to record any qualitative observations that may have an effect on the results so that the math students will be able to take those variations into consideration when they analyze the data. Check the rubric for guidelines to quality. Check the STELLA model produced by Science Writing and see whether the model reflects your experimental results. If not, what adjustments need to be made?
