Activity 2: Graphing the Percent Reduction of NOx and VOCs
Objective: Create
a bar graph which shows which of the two chemicals:NOx or CO you would have to reduce the level of O3 in the atmosphere.
Directions
- Create a spreadsheet which is 3 rows and eight columns.
- Enter the following data in your columns.
Example:
| Design Ratio |
3:1 |
5:1 |
7:1 |
9:1 |
15:1 |
19:1 |
30:1 |
| VOCs

- Do a run for every design ratio on the Basic Interface (one at a time). You should read the procedure page to learn how to use the Basic Interface.
- Go
back to your output file and insert the reduction percentage for each of the
elements.
- Create
a bar graph which will give the audience an idea of the average amount of
Nitrogen Oxides and Carbon Monoxides needed to have a better ozone (0.12
ppms).
- Name
the bar graph ěDesign Ratios.
- Observe
your bar graph and make conclusions on the relationships between your
reductions of VOCs and NOxs.
