Activity 2: Graphing the Percent Reduction of NOx and VOCs

Objective: Create a bar graph which shows which of the two chemicals:NOx or CO you would have to reduce the level of O3 in the atmosphere.

Directions

  1. Create a spreadsheet which is 3 rows and eight columns.
  2. Enter the following data in your columns.

Example:

Design Ratio 3:1 5:1 7:1 9:1 15:1 19:1 30:1
VOCs
NOx

  1. Do a run for every design ratio on the Basic Interface (one at a time). You should read the procedure page to learn how to use the Basic Interface.
  2. Go back to your output file and insert the reduction percentage for each of the elements.
  3. Create a bar graph which will give the audience an idea of the average amount of Nitrogen Oxides and Carbon Monoxides needed to have a better ozone (0.12 ppms).
  4. Name the bar graph ěDesign Ratios.
  5. Observe your bar graph and make conclusions on the relationships between your reductions of VOCs and NOxs.
