Ever wonder what the weatherman is talking about with ozone alerts? What is a "yellow" ozone day? What is ozone? Is it dangerous? Why are we worried about ozone?
This module is designed to help you understand the basic science of ozone -- what it is, how it is formed, how we measure it, and why it is a problem. The basic focus in this module is air quality -- how good is the air we breathe? What happens to us if the air quality is poor?
In this activity, you will use several computer models to investigate the science of air quality. Some of the models are very small, some are quite large! In fact, you will use a model that is used by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on a large supercomputer in this activity!
