Water Quality Index

Introduction :This tool is designed to calculate the water quality index based on water quality factors. factors. Students will need to take data collected and look up Q value based on tables derived from Brown,1970. Charts are hyperlinked through the water quality factors. This is a computational science model to help explore how different water quality factors influence water quality. The index is calculated by multiplying the Q value by a weight factor and summing the results.

Input Value(s):

Dissolved Oxygen DO =
Fecal Coliform F =
pH pH =
Nitrate N =
Phosphate P =
Turbidity T =
Salinty S =
Temperature Temp =

Result(s):

Water Quality Index WQI =

Conclusions :
Range Quality
90-100 Excellent
70-90 Good
50-70 Moderate
25-50 Bad
0-25 Very Bad
