    Critical Thinking Questions

    1.  Does the temperature of the water have any effect on the cooling constant (k)?

    2.  Does Newton's Law of Cooling apply to warming objects?

    3.  Does the temperature of the water ever reach room temperature?  Why or why not?

    4.  If speed of production is important, how could you make the cooling process go faster?

    5.  Which container would result in the greatest rate of cooling?  Least rate of cooling?  Why?
