Description:

This activity is designed to help students differentiate between different types of cloud cover that might affect the intensity of the sunlight reaching the surface of the earth.

Objective:

After completing this lesson, a student should be able to observe and characterize the different levels of cloud cover during daylight hours.

Teaching Strategies:

The students should look at the cloud cover in the sky over a period of days and discuss the types of cloud cover. In addition, they could try to assign a percentage to the level of cloud cover of the sky. The purpose of this activity is to build an awareness of levels of cloud cover.
