      Materials

    • Log notebook
    • Regular style flashlight
    • 1 meter Wooden dowel or stick (outdoors) or pencil (indoor)
    • Hammer (outdoors) or tape (indoors)
    • Lamp with light bulb (60 to 100 watts)
    • Thread, string or fishing line
    • Wood block or other item to attach light sensor to
    • Ruler measured in centimeters
    • Tape measure
    • Graph paper
    • Sheet of paper
    • Protractor
    • Scotch tape
    • Masking tape
    • Clock or watch
    • Electrical or plastic tape
    • Sunshine (distinct shadow showing) from a level surface
